Lynda Diane Valent, 64, passed away on March 8th after a long illness. An Akron native, Lynda was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Valent. She had been employed by Akron Childrens Hospital for 43 years, her most recent position being Radiation Education Coordinator. An avid crafter and she was proficient at cross-stitch, quilting, designing and making cards. She also loved camping and eating out with her friends. Lynda was a member of Lakemore United Methodist Church.

Preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary and step-mother, Ruth Annette Mangus Valent, she is survived by brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Kathy Valent; and nephew and niece, Joseph and Jennifer.

Calling hours will be on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home (811 Grant St.) where Pastor Jeff Gindlesberger will officiate at funeral services on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Crown Hill Cemetery will follow.
