Patricia Ann Vinson, age 85, of Akron, passed away Thursday evening at St. Luke Lutheran Community.

Patricia was born June 28, 1926 in Akron to the late Rudolph and Mary (McDonough) Perrot.

She was a graduate of Central High School and lifelong member of Visitation of Mary Parish. Patricia served on the Akron Board of Education from January 1984 to December 1987. She was very active in PTA and was given an Honorary State Life Membership. She was a PTA Past President, and was active at Henry, Seiberling, Goodyear Junior, East, and Akron Council. Patricia was a long time member and Past President of the Federated Democratic Women of Summit County as well as the Central Hower Mother's Alumni Association. Patricia spent many years coaching the junior bowling at Goodyear Lanes. She loved working with children.

Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, James N. Vinson, Jr. who passed August 15, 2010.

She is survived by her daughter Susan (Sam) Joseph of Akron, two sons, James (Eleanor) Vinson of Memphis, Tenn. and John Vinson of Akron; three grandsons, Paul (Diana) Vinson of Scott AFB, Il, Michael Vinson of Knoxville, Tenn., and Brian Vinson of Memphis, Tenn; two great-grandchildren Cassidy and Cooper Vinson; and special niece Sandra Webb.

Friends may call Sunday from 4-7pm at the Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home (811 Grant St.) in Akron. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am Monday, December 5, 2011 at Visitation of Mary Church, 87 Broad St. in Akron with Fr. Jonathan Zingales celebrant. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery.
