Obituary for Joyce Ann Ramos (Churchwell)

Joyce Ann  Ramos (Churchwell)
Joyce Ann Ramos (Churchwell) 67, of Stow, died at home after a valiant battle with brain cancer on 7/29/16, the date of her 44th wedding anniversary. Her husband, Dr. Andrew Ramos preceded her in death by 19 months. Also deceased are her parents, Paul and Evelyn Churchwell, and brother, Joe Churchwell.

Joyce was born in Denver on 2/25/49, grew up in San Francisco, and moved to Stow at age 14, when her dad was transferred by General Tire. Joyce graduated from St Vincent High School in 1967. She then graduated as an RN from St Thomas Teaching hospital, worked at the Cleveland Clinic in ICU, later at St Thomas, and then ran the front office of her husband Andy's dental practice. Joyce loved quilting and knitting.

Surviving are her sons: Timothy, David, and Andrew Ramos; sister Janie Groh (Danny); brother Jim Churchwell (Joyce); sister-in-law Karen Dodig (Don); and brother-in-law Jim Ramos.

Joyce's family would like to thank Gaby and Suzanne of Crossroads Hospice for their support and loving care.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Dunn-Quigley Stow Chapel (3333 Kent Rd. at Rt.91). Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church followed by interment at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
