Obituary for Paul Edward Klein

Paul Edward Klein
Paul Edward Klein, 50, of Hudson, deeply loved by friends and family, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 4, 2016.

Paul was born in Akron, Ohio to Ronald W. Klein and Susan M. (Beeman) Klein. He attended Hudson schools and graduated in 1984.

Paul Klein was a free spirit who was never meant to sit in one spot. People were free to love him as he loved them back. He was compassionate to all. Anyone who knew Paul would describe him as a Peter Pan character. He sought wonder, expression and distinction in everything he did. “Pauly” as he was known to everyone he worked with, met the world with such humor and high spirits it was hard to see that he was in pain.

Paul was the owner of Arts of Design on Hilton Head Island. He created themes and artwork all over the island that people still see today. Leamington Plantation, Schooner Court, The Sands, Tavern on the Creek, and the former Pineland Station are a few of the places that showcase his talent.

Paul was a talented Chef who created meals and different ways of cooking that changed the menus of a few restaurants on Hilton Head Island, SC, in Peninsula and Akron, Ohio, and finally in Phoenix, AZ.

Paul worked with nonprofit agencies to conserve the sea turtle population on Hilton Head Island. He also worked with K-9 rescue to help train and rehabilitate dogs that found missing persons.

Paul was a mentor, educator and musician with Teen Challenge, helping many kids. He brought joy to their lives through his music and playful nature. They played at Carnegie Hall and he traveled with them throughout the northeast.

Like his mother, Paul was a person of class and style. His talents with architecture and design were endless. Paul always added his touch to things and it showed. And although simplicity was not in his nature, he understood when it was necessary.

Being with Paul was like riding a roller coaster, there were ups and downs but it was always worth the ride!

He is preceded in death by his mother, Susan M. Beeman Klein, maternal grandparents , Edward and Margaret Beeman, and paternal grandparents, Paul and Clara Klein.

He is survived by his father, Ronald W. Klein, brothers, RJ (Margy) Klein, Nathan (Karen) Klein, Josh Klein, and honorary sister Kim Herbaugh. Also, nieces, Kara, Susanne, and Annabella Klein, and nephews, Loudan, Ethan, and Tyler Klein. He was also loved and survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A private family memorial was held on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of one's choice.
