Obituary for Donna Marie Ballard (Fulkerson)

Donna Ballard, 77, passed away on June 11, 2017. Born in Akron, the daughter of the late Clarke and Mary Fulkerson, she was a graduate of St. Vincent High School. She met “Al” at the Palace Theater, selling popcorn and stealing his heart. They were married for 59 years, raising a family of 7 - no easy task. Donna did so with a deep devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Mary.
She was a Nurses Aide and had retired from Our Lady of the Elms Infirmary caring for the sisters. Donna loved the Cleveland Browns and Cavs but she especially loved having her family around her - Sunday dinners and holiday get-togethers. She loved and in return was loved by all.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by cherished daughter, Michelle L. Ballard; brothers, Donald, Leo, Louis, Gerald and Robert Fulkerson; and sisters, Ann McGovern and Dolores Butcher.

She leaves behind to mourn her passing husband, Charles “Al”; sons, Charles P.(Cynthia), Stephen, Keith and Gregory; daughters, Jane Ballard and Theresa Kohler; sister, Eleanor (Donald) Lancy; sisters-in-law, Marguerite (William) Holler and Donna Ballard; daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Lensing;14 loving grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and faithful dog, “Knuckles”.

Calling hours will be on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home (811 Grant St.). Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Vincent Catholic Church, interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.

The family would like to acknowledge Donna’s niece, Patricia Markham, as well as the staff at Hospice on Ridgewood for there loving care.
