Obituary for Fig "Thomas" Jankowski

Fig (Thomas) Jankowski went to his heavenly home on August 1, 2017, exactly one year to the day of his pancreatic cancer diagnosis. He was surrounded by his wife of 32 years, Bridget, and his sons Ross (Parma Hts), Alan and Brian (at home) and his faithful dog Lizzy.

He will be best remembered for his outgoing personality, and his engaging sense of humor. He was well-known for his involvement and passion for community theater on the local, regional and state level where he served as actor, director and adjudicator. Fig was happy to have served for ten years as the announcer for the Woodridge High School Marching Bulldog Band and as a dedicated show choir parent was the “biggest fan” of the ETC All Americans.

He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Janet Jankowski and sister Kaye Black. He is also survived by his brother Frank Jankowski (Linda) of Highland Hts, brother-in-law Ray Black of Florida, relatives and friends too numerous to count.

Calling hours will be at Dunn-Quigley (Stow) on Friday, August 4th from 4 to 8 pm. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Matthew Church on Saturday, August 5th at 11:00 am.
