Obituary for Morris Gene Pitman Jr.
Morris "Gene" Pitman, Jr., 61, passed away at his home on September 14. Born in Akron the son of the late Morris Gene Pitman, Sr. and Janet Elizabeth Pitman, Gene was a graduate of Garfield High School. After serving honorably in the United States Marine Corps, he moved to Texas where he had a successful career as and x-ray technician.
He moved back to Akron following a serious motorcycle accident.
His survivors include daughters, Shannon Hunt and Amanda Pitman; son, Shawn Pitman; brothers, John, Raymond, and Russell. He also leaves many other relatives and friends.
Military honors and committal services will take place on Thursday, Sept. 28 at 2:30 at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
PLEASE ARRIVE AT CEMETERY BEFORE 2:15.
