I was deeply saddened (and shocked) to learn of Skip's death. Learning of his passing brought so very many memories rushing forward. Even though we have been divorced for 32 years (can it really be that long ago??) I'm so pleased that most of the memories are good ones. Skip was always both so fun and so funny . . . always the life of the party. He was a good man. My daughter Chris, was a PeeWee cheerleader for Skip's team and it was a wonderful experience for her. Chris is also very sad to learn about Skip's death. He was "Dad" to her for seven years. She has lots of good memories as well.
We didn't keep in contact--other than the great story of when my current "Skip" (really, how can a person have two "Skips" in their life) and I refinanced our mortgage and I ran into Skip #1 and introduced him to Skip #2. Skip #1 and I had a great conversation. Skip told me that he married a wonderful woman and had a son, who was the love of his life. I was so glad to hear about his family. I was thrilled that he overcame challenges in his life and was leading a productive, happy, and healthy life. My deepest condolences to Annette and Slater.
